Letter Merge Displays Treatment Planned Patients, But Patient Has No Treatment Planned Procedures

1. When a Treatment Planned Procedure(s) is referred out to a provider (RTP procedure) the Treatment Manager Module will no longer display this patient as having a Treament Planned Producedure (is this working as designed?).
 
2. Likewise, however, the Letter merge filters (if using the Procedure filter with only Treatment Plans selected), then the patient will appear on the letter merge output file as if they have a Treatment Plan. (Is this also working as designed?)

Yes, both of these questions are Working As Designed.  If you would like the patients to not be included on the Letter Merge for RTP procedures when the treatment was refered, then please submit a Software Change Request

Commonly this may present a problem if running a letter such as the end of year remaining benefitsend of year remaining benefitsletter with Treatment Plan included. 
The letter merge will include patients if they have both RTP or regular treatment plans.  If the patient only has RTP procedures, will display on the Letter Merge list because inside of the Chart, the Treatment plan RTP procedures are visible.

Also, you can simply include an addendum at the end of the letter such as the following... '*Some patients who only have treatment referred to another office may receive this letter. If we find this to be the case, we will present you with a free dental health care package for your trouble! (So call anyways!)' ...or 10% off Tooth Whitening...etc... 

Steps to Duplicate::
* Start with a patient without a Treatment Planned or RTP referred procedures codes in the Chart.

1. Create a Treatment planned procedure and then click on the referred field and click TO. Click any referred to provider and click OK and OK to post.

2. Open the Treatment Manager and type in the patients name in the From and TO field and with all of the other filters set from all to all (all inclusive ranges).
- Notice the patient does not appear.

3.  In the Office Manager Letters, create a new letter with the following filters set to all:
Status, Gender, Position, Balance Aging, Billing Types, etc.
  
 -All other filters from the grey columns are blank except click the >> By procedures.  Mark Only Treatment Plans, and include all procedure ranges, and leave date range blank.
-In the From and To name, enter in the same patient only, and click OK.

4. Click Create/Merge  Create Data File Only VIEW list, and the patient will appear when it is expected that he should not appear.
