Clearing a Finance Charge or Late Charges from a Single Account:
If you want to only clear finance charges or late charges from one, or a few accounts,
- Open a patient's Ledger
- Double-click the Finance Charge or Late Charge
- Click Delete.
Clearing Finance Charges from multiple accounts:
To delete all Finance Charges or Late Charges posted on a certain date:
1. Close All DENTRIX Modules
You must close all DENTRIX modules on all workstations in the office before continuing. (Modules include Family File, Patient Chart, Ledger, Appointment Book/List, and Office Manager.)
2. Open Ledger
Open the Ledger on one workstation.
While it is preferred to run this task from the Server computer (for speed), it will work from any workstation.
3. In the Ledger, choose Month End | Finance Charge | Delete Finance Charge -or- Month End | Late Charge | Delete Late Charge
4. Enter Finance Charge or Late Charge Date
Enter the date of the Finance Charges or Late Charges that you want to delete in the Finance Charge Date field. All finance charges, on all accounts, with this date will be deleted.
5. Click OK
Click the OK button. A verification message box appears.
6. Click OK
Click OK to delete the charges or Cancel to return to the dialog box without completing the deletion.
If you experience an error indicating that A Dentrix Module is Still Active,
click here.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A Finance Charge in history for a month that has been closed will not be able to be deleted.
This option was added in version 8.0. In versions prior to 8.0, there is not a way to delete late charges without deleting them individually from each patient's ledger.
