How to purge exported files.

The Purge Exported Files utility allows you to delete information that was exported, such as data from letters and reports that were selected to ‘Print to File.’

To purge exported files:

1. Open the Office Manager
2. Select Maintenance Purge Exported Files. The Purge Exported Files dialog box appears.

3. Check Information to be Purged. You have the following options:
- Check Purge data files for Letters/Quick Letters to delete any .out files (data) created during letter merges or Quick Letters genereationed and stored in the Exports directory.
- Check Purge exported text and log files (from reports and utilities) to delete data in .txt and .log forms in the Exports directory. Reports that were selected to ‘Print to File’ are stored as .txt files. Logs from utilities that were run with hsps Support are saved as .log files.

4. Click OK to purge the selected data or Cancel to exit the Purge Exported Files dialog without deleting anything.

Additional Information:
The location of the Exports directory is the same as your Letter Template path. At the server this is ususally C:\Program Files\Dentrix\Doc\Exports.
